- Case 2: Comparison of compound nucleus width fluctuation models ->10 keV n + 93Nb
- Case 3: Recoils -> 20 MeV n + 28Si
- Case 4: Fission cross sections -> n + 241Am
- Case 5: Continuum spectra -> 63 MeV n + 209Bi - (n,xp), (n,xd), (n,xt), (n,xα)
- Case 6: Pre-equilibrium angular distributions and multiple pre-equilibrium emission ->120 MeV p+ 90Zr - (p,xp)
- Case 7: Inelastic spectrum (direct, preequilibrium, giant resonances, compound) -> 20 MeV n + 209Bi - (n,xn)
- Case 8: Residual production cross sections -> p + natFe up to 100 MeV
- Case 9: Spherical optical model and DWBA -> n + 208Pb between 11 and 26 MeV

Note that the numbering of the TALYS sample cases of the manual and of the validation set is different.
